What Is the COROS App?
The COROS application (Android package: com.yf.smart.coros.dist, App Store ID: 1277625343) is built around COROS's core mission: Performance Sport Technology. The app syncs automatically with your COROS watch over Bluetooth, pulling in every workout, sleep session, daily health metric, and GPS route you record.
The interface is organized into four main sections:

Web PlatformCOROS Training Hub (traininghub.coros.com)
The COROS app is the official companion application for all COROS GPS smartwatches and the COROS DURA cycling computer. Available free on iOS and Android, it syncs activity data, health metrics, and GPS routes from your COROS watch. Key features include EvoLab training analytics (Base Fitness, Training Load, Running Economy), the Explore Page for route planning and navigation, structured workout creation, training plan downloads, and third-party sync to Strava, Apple HealthKit, Google Health Connect, TrainingPeaks, and more.
Can COROS connect to Strava?
Yes. COROS integrates directly with Strava. To enable it, open the COROS app → Profile → Connected Apps → Strava → Connect. Once linked, every activity recorded on your COROS watch will automatically upload to Strava within minutes of syncing to the COROS app. The sync includes GPS route, pace, heart rate, elevation, and all performance data. Activities flow one-way from COROS to Strava; you cannot import Strava routes back to COROS (but you can import GPX files from Strava manually).
Can COROS sync with Apple Health?
Yes. The COROS app supports Apple HealthKit integration. Go to COROS App → Profile → Connected Apps → Apple Health and toggle it on. Once enabled, COROS will push steps, heart rate, sleep data, workout calories, and activity summaries to Apple Health after each sync. This allows your COROS health data to appear alongside other apps in the Health app on your iPhone.
Can COROS connect to Spotify or play music?
COROS watches do not have built-in music storage or Spotify streaming. The COROS app does not support music playback. However, you can use your phone's music app independently while running — the COROS watch can display incoming call and SMS notifications, but it does not control Spotify or other music apps directly. If music playback is a priority, consider a Garmin watch with music storage or an Apple Watch.
Can COROS measure VO2 max?
Yes. The COROS app estimates VO2 max through its EvoLab system, displayed as 'Fitness Level.' The estimate is calculated from outdoor running and cycling workouts where GPS pace and heart rate data are recorded simultaneously. After enough qualifying workouts, COROS displays your estimated VO2 max and tracks changes over time in the Training tab. Running Fitness metrics (available on PACE 3, APEX 2 Pro, and VERTIX 2S) provide additional performance indicators like Running Economy.
Are COROS watches good?
COROS watches are highly regarded among serious endurance athletes, particularly for their exceptional battery life, accurate GPS tracking, and EvoLab training analytics. The COROS PACE 3 offers 38 days of battery life (GPS mode: 35 hours), making it a standout in the mid-range category. The APEX 2 Pro and VERTIX 2S target trail runners with full topographic map support. Compared to Garmin, COROS watches focus on clean data and long battery life rather than an app marketplace. Overall ratings: App Store 4.2★ and a strong following on Reddit's r/Coros.
Are COROS watches compatible with iPhone?
Yes. COROS watches are fully compatible with iPhone. The COROS app requires iOS 13.0 or later and connects to any COROS GPS watch via Bluetooth. After downloading the app from the App Store and creating a free account, tap Profile → Add Device and follow the Bluetooth pairing steps. All features — EvoLab analytics, route sync, training plans, and third-party integrations — work identically on iOS and Android.
Are COROS watches better than Garmin?
COROS and Garmin target different segments of the endurance sports market. COROS advantages: significantly longer battery life, EvoLab biomechanical metrics (Running Economy, Leg Spring Stiffness), simpler interface, and no subscription required for advanced features. Garmin advantages: larger device ecosystem, Connect IQ app marketplace, Body Battery energy monitor, Garmin Pay, and broader smartwatch features (music, NFC payments). For pure endurance athletes focused on running and cycling performance, COROS is often preferred. For those wanting a full smartwatch with apps, notifications, and daily use features, Garmin typically wins.
Can COROS connect to Samsung Health or Google Fit?
COROS supports Google Health Connect on Android, which acts as a bridge to sync data with Samsung Health, Google Fit, and other Android health apps. To enable it, go to COROS App → Profile → Connected Apps → Google Health Connect and follow the setup steps. Note: Direct Google Fit sync is not available; Health Connect is the supported method on Android. Apple HealthKit sync is available separately for iPhone users.
What COROS devices does the app support?
The COROS app supports the full COROS GPS device lineup, including: COROS VERTIX, VERTIX 2, VERTIX 2S; COROS APEX, APEX Pro, APEX 2, APEX 2 Pro; COROS PACE, PACE 2, PACE 3, PACE Pro; COROS NOMAD; and the COROS DURA cycling GPS computer. All devices connect via Bluetooth BLE. The app automatically detects your device model and enables the features supported by that hardware. Visit coros.com/comparison for the full device feature comparison.
How do I create and sync routes with the COROS app?
To create a route: open the COROS app → Explore Page (map icon) → tap the '+' button → draw your route on the map or import a GPX file. Save the route and tap 'Sync to Device' to push it to your connected COROS watch. On the watch, the route appears under Navigation → Routes and can be followed with on-screen breadcrumb guidance. You can also download community routes from the Explore Page or import GPX files exported from Strava, Komoot, or Garmin Connect.

And I think they'd be very easy to implement and would warrant a 5-star rating from me. 1) Allow more choices in the "Notifications" option besides "Others." Selecting "Others" may give me five notifications I'd like to receive on my wrist, and 95 notifications I wouldn't. Breaking this down further, similar to how Fitbit or other wearable tech companies do it, should be simple. 2) Let me set my week begin/end. The week for me goes Sunday to Saturday; for others it's Monday to Sunday. Edit: After the most recent firmware updates, my Apex 2 Pro battery has been much faster. Still top notch battery life compared to competitors, but it is quite noticeable.

I switched from Garmin to Coros and love the Apex 2 Pro watch itself. However, from day one I have had issues getting my watch to connect regularly with the app. The watch connection simply isn't consistent and stable. I have to manually reconnect dozens of times every day, simply because I walked away from my phone. I really want to love the app, and I appreciate all the data it provides for my workouts. The GPS tracking, EvoLab metrics, and Strava sync all work great when the connection is stable.
App Store
I love my watch for a variety of reasons, the biggest being the battery life because I cannot be bothered to charge my watch every 3 days. That being said, I wish the calendar view was better for tracking activity history at a glance. The EvoLab training analytics are genuinely useful — I check my training load and base fitness every week to plan my runs. If the UI gets a bit more polish this would easily be a 5-star app.
App Store
Using the COROS APEX 2 Pro for trail running and the app is excellent for route planning. The Explore page makes it super easy to download topographic routes and sync them to my watch. EvoLab is legitimately one of the best training analytics tools I've used — the Base Fitness and Recovery Time predictions are accurate. Strava sync is seamless. Main gripe: the watch UI is a bit harder to navigate compared to the app.
App Store
Best GPS watch app for serious endurance athletes. The COROS training hub integration allows my coach to review my data and push structured workouts directly to my watch through the app. EvoLab Base Fitness and running economy metrics have genuinely helped me peak for my A-race. Battery life on the VERTIX 2S is unreal — 140 hours GPS. The app is clean and focused, no bloat.
Google Play
I left Garmin for Coros. I absolutely love the watch and especially the battery life. However, the app alone is making me consider going back to Garmin. There are quite a few basic functions other tracking apps have that this doesn't. You can't even edit a run after it is completed. I've had times when my watch paused and I couldn't go back and edit my time/distance. The EvoLab data is great though — base fitness and training load tracking are genuinely useful.
Google Play
Love my watch! The app has some quirks on Android — it won't sync or load anything if I'm connected to WiFi. If I turn my WiFi off, it works great. Also, when my friend shares a workout via text, the link doesn't open directly in the app. That said, the GPS accuracy is fantastic, and the training metrics are miles ahead of what I had with my old Fitbit. Route navigation works really well for trail runs.
Google Play
The app interface isn't bad, but there's room for improvement on the software side. I've got the Coros Pace 2, and it occasionally picks up typing as steps. There should be an option to disable step counting during stationary activities. That said, the EvoLab metrics and Strava integration work reliably, and the route sync feature is a real highlight. Battery life on the watch is exceptional — I charge maybe once a week with daily GPS runs.
Google Play
I use the COROS app to coach 12 athletes through the Training Hub. The ability to push structured workouts and training plans directly to athletes' watches from the web platform is genuinely game-changing. Athletes can see the plan in the app and execute it on their watch without any manual steps. The detailed sleep data now syncing to TrainingPeaks after the Jan 2026 update is a huge win for our data-driven approach.
Google Play
COROS APEX 2 Pro paired with the app is my complete triathlon setup. The app handles swim/bike/run data seamlessly, and EvoLab Training Load across all three sports gives me a realistic picture of fatigue. Strava auto-sync works perfectly — every session is there within 5 minutes. The route planning for bike courses is solid, though I wish the elevation profile display was more detailed. Overall a great app for multi-sport athletes.

COROS EvoLab™ — Elite Training Analytics
EvoLab is COROS's proprietary training intelligence system and the most important feature of the COROS training app. Unlike simple activity trackers, EvoLab provides a complete picture of your fitness trajectory across weeks and months:
Base Fitness
A long-term fitness score built from your historical training data. Base Fitness rises as you consistently train and recovers slowly—unlike weekly training load, it represents your true athletic foundation. Elite runners and cyclists use Base Fitness to plan their peak season timing.
Fitness Level (VO2 Max Estimation)
The COROS app estimates your VO2 max from outdoor running and cycling activities using GPS pace, heart rate, and elevation data. This metric updates after qualifying workouts and can be tracked over time in the Training tab.
Training Load & Recovery
Training Load — Quantifies the physiological stress of your recent workouts across a rolling window. The COROS app color-codes load as Optimal, Low, or High relative to your historical baseline.
Recovery Time — After every intense workout, the app calculates your estimated time to full recovery, helping you avoid overtraining.
Running Fitness Metrics
Available on COROS PACE 3, APEX 2 Pro, and VERTIX 2S, Running Fitness metrics include:
Running Economy — How efficiently your body converts energy into forward motion
Leg Spring Stiffness — Biomechanical efficiency indicator for injury prevention
Air Power — Aerodynamic resistance score useful for performance in varying conditions
Stride Ratio — Step length relative to height, a proxy for running efficiency
Navigation & Route Planning
The COROS Explore Page is a built-in map and route management system that lets you:
Create custom routes directly in the app using the map editor
Download curated routes from the COROS community or import GPX files
Sync routes to your watch for turn-by-turn navigation in the field
View satellite and topographic maps for trail running and hiking
Track breadcrumb trails to find your way back on unmarked terrain
Group Tracking — Monitor the live location of training partners during outdoor activities
Navigation is particularly powerful on trail running-focused devices like the COROS APEX 2 Pro and COROS VERTIX 2S, which support full offline map storage.
