Mobvoi (formerly TicWatch) is the official companion app for the TicWatch series of Wear OS smartwatches, developed by Mobvoi Inc. — a Beijing-based AI company founded in 2012 by former Google Research Scientist Zhifei Li. The app connects TicWatch devices to your Android or iOS phone, synchronizes health and fitness data, manages watch faces, and provides detailed visualization of your daily activities.
Since launching its first smartwatch in 2015, Mobvoi has shipped over a dozen TicWatch models and built one of the most recognizable Wear OS brands alongside Samsung and Google. The company went public on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in April 2024 (HKEX: 02438) and has raised over $259 million in funding, with strategic investments from Google and Volkswagen Group China.
What Does the Mobvoi App Do?
The Mobvoi app serves as the central hub for all TicWatch smartwatches running Wear OS. Once paired via Bluetooth, the app syncs data from your watch's sensors and presents it in a clean, card-based dashboard:
-
Activity Tracking — steps, distance, calories burned, and active minutes are synced automatically from TicWatch's built-in sensors. The app visualizes daily, weekly, and monthly trends.
-
Heart Rate Monitoring — continuous heart rate data from TicPulse is displayed with resting heart rate trends, workout zones, and alerts for abnormal readings.
-
Sleep Analysis — TicSleep tracks sleep stages (deep, light, REM, awake), sleep duration, and sleep quality score. The app provides nightly breakdowns and long-term sleep trend analysis.
-
Stress Monitoring — TicZen measures stress levels throughout the day using heart rate variability (HRV) data, with guided breathing exercises via TicBreathe to help manage stress.
-
SpO₂ Monitoring — TicOxygen tracks blood oxygen saturation levels, particularly useful during sleep and high-altitude activities.
-
Watch Face Management — browse, download, and install custom watch faces directly from the app. Mobvoi also offers the TimeShow platform for thousands of additional watch face designs.
